Portfolio Of Recent Work For Dan And Gothic Storm

Hi Dan! If you’re reading this thanks for being here and welcome.

I try to get involved in as many indie film productions as I can. This is my score for ‘Escape Room’. My favourite cue is Tick Tock (0:53).

FYI here is the actual short however I really didn’t like the editors decision to duck the music against dialogue in such an extreme way.

Score begins 0:13

The story here is I think this short is pretty poor and after putting in a huge amount of work writing the score, the director decided to use hardly any of my music.

So I made up my own version with my score and personally I think it works really well, bringing an absurdity and sillyness (which was the part of the brief) to the scenes especially cues at 2:24 and 5:22.

(Also my first time using woods!)

This was my entry to a recent Spitfire composing competition and I really like what I came up with.

Looping guitars and lots of FX balanced with a choir which adds a human, organic side and a percussive element from col lengo, pizz and marcato strings.

I am currently working with an indie game dev and it’s a really fun project. This is the main theme for the landing page of the game. Felt that some ‘duck inspired’ synth patches were called for.

Another recent indie short for which I drew upon my love for filthy, distorted guitars and big riffs to add a bit of shock and awe to this trailer.

If you’ve made it this far (or even to this page!) thanks for taking the time to check out my recent work Dan.

As my submission email says I have made it a career goal to get something placed with you at Gothic Storm. The high standards you have set certainly inspire me to keep improving.

Cheers

Gary
